what are y'all's thoughts about powers getting people further in the game? i wanted to ask about them but honestly yesterday debbie said to sam that the powers were there when people needed them, and everyone used them so that doesn't diminish her game that she used them when she needed too. and i agree with that so i feel like they're not that important?

I mean powers are like 50% responsible for why I went home IMO since I was literally basically kind of in a situation where I was forced up and out but at the same time all of us are aware of the powers in the game and it’s just another obstacle that ALL of us have to navigate through in order to get to the end. So I don’t think it’s something to fault people for but it’s just part of the game and being able to use them correctly and not have them be something that sends you out the door is not something that I would say is a reason why people should or shouldn’t win, it just is… if that makes sense

no yeah i like that thank you. for a while i looked at them as like a cheat and unfair but yeah everyone had to navigate them so i guess having to use them doesn't mean anyone's game was less than.

I don’t agree with a ton of gimmicky powers but given that they were an integral part it would be silly to completely dismiss them. In a normal season, Steve wouldn’t survive the vote but at the same time, the game would be completely different and Steve could have adopted a different strategy. We all know it’s not his first rodeo so it’s not just serendipitous that he finds himself in the end.

On the same token, powers have also benefited Ember, who very well could have left when she was nominated during the Jaida eviction. I think she’s been able to benefit just as much as Steve. So those are important to consider but I do think there’s a list of things to focus on when voting for a winner.
