POV 7 - Pitch Your Sins

The Seven Deadly Sins: Reckoning is a horror series that delves into the history of a small town, where every seven years, a serial killer collective come together to claim the lives of seven victims. Each of the serial killers who are a part of the collective represent one of the seven deadly sins; the Greed killer for example, likes to focus on those who put fame and fortune above all else (think Britney Spears’ father, Jamie), whereas the Lust killer will choose a victim such as a man who has repeatedly cheated on his partner with a mistress.

Our first season will consist of 10 hour-long episodes, with the first introducing us to the small town of Blossington; episodes 2-8 each focusing on one of the Seven Deadly Sins killers and, the final two episodes serving as a two-part finale in which the residents of Blossington come together to try and bring their nightmare to an end.

The twist? Each of the Seven Deadly Sins killers will be a major component of the town’s social system. Blossington’s mayor is one of those committing the murders; their sheriff is another. Each episode from episode 2 through 8 will reveal the identity of one of the killers, as we look at their history in the town and how they were inspired to pick up the mantle of the Seven Deadly Sins killers.

To add another layer of intrigue, each of the Seven Deadly Sins killers will be female and, each of their victims will be male. As we explore the killers’ pasts, we’ll see that members of the opposite sex have wronged them in some way and after months of supporting one another through local coffee meet-ups and liquor-fuelled evenings, they decided to do something drastic and ‘clean up’ the town.

Everybody hates a cliffhanger ending but, we will want a scene at the very end of our final episode that will allow for a second season to be commissioned should the series be a success. Though the town believe that they have been successful in taking the Seven Deadly Sins killers down, what the audiences learn in the season’s final moments is that the seven female killers have instead framed local male residents, allowing their work to continue in seven years’ time.

As they settle down for another seven years however, our very last scene will focus on an online fan club dedicated to the criminals, that will result in a new group forming after taking inspiration from the original. It is they who will carry the torch of the Seven Deadly Sins killers forward, in a bloody and brutal second season.
